Event: Networked Markets Seminar with Prof. Ruben Juarez


On Wednesday the 26th Ruben Juarez will be giving a brief presentation entitled “Designing networked markets with good equilibria.”
Ruben Juarez is a professor from the Department of Economics here at Manoa. His research interests include Microeconomic Theory, Game Theory, Mechanism Design and Network Economics.

The talk will be geared towards undergraduates and graduate students.

Summary of presentation:
We provide an introduction to several network economic problems. We will focus in three applications: matching markets, traffic (routing) problems and resource allocation problems. We will introduce mechanisms (algorithms) that satisfy desirable properties like efficiency, non-manipulability (incentive compatibility) and fairness.
